I wasn’t sure what woke me up, rain or my grandiose idea to become a movie producer.

The idea of becoming a producer is becoming more and more appealing considering that people will look at anything on the screen rather than each other. Great business opportunity.

I am reading books, a lot of books ‘How to Make Your First Movie and Avoid Making Mistakes.” Scary but fascinating world! I am up for it .

Good thing about reading these books is that one can form opinions without having to get the facts. But I have to get my hands dirty with facts if I want to produce movies.

My first lesson learned - the most important part in film making is played by writers but the producer’s job is to do everything in their power to keep them from finding out.

I am on my mission. I need to find ‘that’ script that everybody will want it. Do I know what I am looking for? I don’t have a clue but I will play the field.

I’ve read eight scripts and I frankly got depressed. I started realizing that for some writers, writing is a vocation of unhappiness and I am not prepared to join. Let’s look for some uplifting subject. Comedy!

After a long meeting with a comedy writer from LA, I was elevated. He was passionate, it was infectious. I can’t wait to read the script.

Oh dear! Read the comedy script. Nothing was funny. Comedy script based in California. Now I need to surprise the screenwriter by informing him what I think of his screenplay.

Have done it. Have said to the writer what I thought about his script. I used all my diplomacy skills to say ‘no’ in such a way that it sounds like ‘yes’.

By now, I’ve learned a few lessons. Let’s do things right this time. I will option a book and hire a writer to adapt it into a screenplay. Love the idea!

I’ve found a book. You know the kind of book that everybody is supposed to have read and often think they have. This is what I been waiting for.

My important day is approaching. My first meeting with financiers interested to finance my first project. Can’t get better than that except….

My agent called to say that he cannot join, but hey here’s an uplifting thought - he is convinced I can handle meeting myself. Sure I can! I am a driver, he is only a passenger. He can stop and get out but I need to drive my car to my destination.

Had a meeting with six men. A decision maker and five ‘yes’ men. My seat was reserved. I sat in the middle of the room, having three men on my left and three men on my right made me warm. Meeting conclusion: game of intimidation.
